lauren hughes & rama hughes
when my mom was a teenager, she used to snap her fingers and say "yo, queenie!" as a way to greet friends. she revealed that choice nugget from her past on the day that i doodled this portrait of her (above) on the back of a shopping list. she did this cartoon of me (below) on a scrap of bristol board. she addressed the other side of it and mailed it as a postcard. she's always doing things like that.
